Lu Jong is a Tibetan healing yoga, beneficial on a physical, energetic and mental level. Lu means body and Jong means training or transformation. We offer Lu Jong 1 and Lu Jong 2 courses.
By balancing and purifying the elements of our body, our health and well-being are greatly improved and our mental state is freed from negative emotions. The Lu Jong practice also intensely trains our subtle body channels and works on the spine to allow the body's vital energy to flow harmoniously.
It is a practice that works simultaneously with body, mind and energy. By combining form, movement, breath and mindfulness, body and mind become one.
We use form and movement to repeatedly apply pressure to particular points in the channels. This gives an inner massage that opens up various blockages and releases tension in our body. We also work gently with the spine, creating space around the vertebrae and touching secret points to release emotional blocks. We nourish the joints, releasing blockages that would otherwise manifest disease. And using breath and awareness develops an inner calmness, a true meditation in motion.
The movements of Lu Jong come from ancient Tibetan teachings. However, this practice is uniquely linked to Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche. From a young age he studied with many masters in Tibet, learning these healing movements from all the Tibetan Buddhist lineages. He put them together in a clear and concise practice and modified them to make them more accessible to untrained Western bodies.
The Lu Jong 1 practice consists of 23 exercises divided into 4 groups and 2 additional exercises that can be practiced by people of all ages and abilities and the benefits are felt immediately. Continued practice can truly change your life. This practice focuses on balancing and purifying the 5 elements, releasing blockages in the joints, maintaining the health of the 5 vital organs and treating various conditions. More information on Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche's website and on the Lu Jong website.
Lu Jong 2 consists of 15 exercises spread in 3 groups. It is a continuation of the Lu Jong 1 practice, but some of the movement are a little more challenging even though they can in most cases be adapted to everybody. Lu Jong 2 contains specific benefits for the body and mind and is therefore a great way to deepen your Lu Jong practice.
"When our channels are flexible and straight, our life energy flows properly through our body, giving us good health and greater happiness"
